Theft from University Centre

University Police are appealing to our community to assist in identifying these two males who are suspects in a theft of a donation box from inside the University Centre on Febuary 20, 2013 at approximately 6:26pm

Break, Enter and Theft in University Theft

Between Sunday February 10 and Monday February 11, 2013, unknown person(s) committed a Break, Enter and Theft to an office on the 2nd floor of the University Centre. 

If you were in the University Centre during this time and saw anything suspicious, please contact Campus Police.

Voyeurism charge laid by Guelph Police Service

On February 1, 2013, at 4:45 p.m., Guelph Police arrested a male near the downtown area for two counts of voyeurism. 

In partnership with the Campus Community Police, the male was identified as being responsible for an incident where a male followed a female into a washroom at the University in October 2012. As a result, the male was charged with a third count of voyeurism.

University Centre Break, Enter and Theft

Further to the Safety Bulletin posted on January 28, 2013 regarding a Break, Enter and Theft in the University Centre. The investigation has revealed that 15 computers,  a hand-held device and a portable hard drive were stolen. Should it be confirmed that any personal information was housed on these computers, the University will contact the affected individuals directly. The investigation is ongoing.

On Sunday January 27, 2013, the Campus Community Police responded to the report of a Break, Enter and Theft in the University Centre. The suspects were observed in the area at 7:20 a.m.

Theft from Residence Rooms

We have been experiencing an increase of theft from residence rooms on campus. Victims reported that either they closed their door, but did not lock it or left their door open as they were just down the hall.

Please remember to LOCK your residence room door when you are not in your room.  Just shutting the door behind you is not enough.  Some victims were only away from their room for 10 minutes when the theft occurred.

Motor Vehicle Collision - Pedestrian Struck

Motor vehicle Collision – Pedestrian Struck On Sunday December 2, 2012, at 2:35 a.m., a 21-year old Guelph male was walking across Gordon Street south of Wellington Street East when a southbound vehicle that was driven by a 42-year old Guelph male struck him.

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to the Guelph General Hospital before being airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto with serious injuries.

The matter is still under investigation.

Guelph Police Service seeking witnesses in hit and run November 1

Wednesday November 14, 2012

1. UPDATE- Motor Vehicle Collision – Hit and Run- Witnesses Sought A 21-year-old male from Barrie remains in a Hamilton Hospital in stable condition for the treatment of serious injuries he received in a Fail to Remain collision that occurred overnight Halloween night.

On Thursday November 1, 2012 at 2:05 a.m., the male victim was near the bridge on Gordon Street South Guelph coming from the downtown.

Thefts from Athletics Centre

Recently there has been thefts from the change-rooms in the Athletic Centre. All thefts were from unlocked lockers. Please ensure your valuables are always secure. 

Locks are available for sale or rent from the Front Desk.
 
If you see anyone acting suspicious, please contact the Campus Police or notify Athletic staff immediately.
